The Signdance Group, International Signdance Theatre Pioneers, is led by a team of Deaf, disabled, and diverse producers/artists based in Croatia and the United Kingdom.

 The UK-based company - Signdance Collective began developing SIGNDANCE THEATRE in London in 1987.

​

As the company began collaborating with artists worldwide, the touring grew exponentially, and in  2020, a new European company, Znakonvi Ples/ Signdance, was established in    Croatia..

 ​Our art form, Signdance Theatre, fuses sign-theatre, dance, and live original music.

Sign language theatre—the theatrical language of the Deaf Community—forms the foundation for developing visual narratives, movement, and choreography. Sign Dance Theatre's vocabulary combines sign language with contemporary dance, bringing clarity and beauty to emotions expressed on stage. This fusion enhances artistic expression and fosters mutual understanding between Deaf and Hearing communities, bridging communication through shared human experiences."
