WELCOME
The Signdance Group stands as a trailblazer in inclusive performance. As the pioneer of the ground breaking performance art form Signdance Theatre, their work not only showcases creativity but also expands the possibilities of accessibility in the arts.
"Hypnotic, poetic, and unruly.
The Signdance Collective represents the ungovernable energy of art itself, railing and raging against tyrannical forces. Beautiful to behold".

The Signdance Group, recognized as innovators in Signdance Theatre, is proudly led by a dynamic team of Deaf, disabled, and diverse producers and artists. Their unique perspectives and creative contributions significantly enhance the arts community, fostering a positive impact and inspiring audiences across the world
Signdance Collective was founded in 1987 and has established a strong presence in the arts by pioneering the art form known as Signdance Theatre. We have collaborated with many talented artists from around the world, which has greatly contributed to our growth. In 2020, we launched a new European company called Znakonvi Ples/Signdance in Croatia.
Our art form, Signdance Theatre, uniquely combines sign language, dance, and live music. This blend allows us to convey visual stories through movement, using sign language to express deep emotions within dance. By integrating sign language with contemporary dance, Signdance Theatre enhances emotional clarity and beauty on stage. This fusion fosters connections between Deaf and Hearing communities, enabling us to share and celebrate our shared human experiences..
The Signdance Group joins Transmitter Performance in Graz, Austria, at Jambor in Ljubljana and Croatia, for Notiizen/Noticias, where Signdance meets the extraordinary puppetry art of Barbara Bulatovic.
Review NOTIZEN
Audience member Graz Austria
More and more newspaper scraps fly away, colorful paper snippets swirl through the air. An invisible message floats through the park, through the world, on this September afternoon! >Protest from the mind and love from the heart.“<
„It interests people of all ages.“
„You can see from the audience's expressions that the performance is moving; there's no one left who isn't thinking. What messages are in the newspapers, what information do they contain?“
„Sounds painted with an old violin bow on a guitar. Two protagonists dance in wild contortions to the mystical music. The scene appears dystopian, almost apocalyptic. Two city sanitation workers, enjoying a coffee break at a nearby stand, watch the scene intently.“
